We want to ensure that all visitors can access our website as conveniently as possible. Therefore, we implement the requirements of the German Accessibility Act (BFSG) and continuously strive to make our content accessible.

Status of compliance with the legal requirements

In our estimation, our website is broadly accessible. This evaluation is based on the requirements of EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at conformity level AA.

The following points have been implemented on our website to ensure accessibility:

• Clear navigation which also allows keyboard use.
• Content which can be viewed with screen readers.
• Alternative text for images and subtitles for Infovideos & Steuernews-TV.
• Colours and contrasts which meet the minimum requirements; contents are easily readable even at 200% zoom.

We continuously work to further improve accessibility and integrate the latest technological developments.

Content that is not fully accessible

Despite our best efforts, some sections of our website may not yet be fully accessible. Limitations may occur, particularly with complex interactive elements or content provided by external services. We continuously work to improve accessibility and encourage users to report any barriers they encounter.

Due to the following incompatibilities, this website is partially compliant with Conformity Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

• Excel payroll accounting forms: These forms currently do not meet the requirements for accessible documents. (Non-compliant)
• Online payroll accounting forms: Certain barriers may affect unrestricted access to these forms. (Partially compliant)
• PDF documents: Many PDF documents on this website are not fully accessible, as they often lack alternative text descriptions or a logical document structure. (Non-compliant)
• Blog content: The blog section currently contains accessibility barriers relating to the presentation of content. These include, among other things, missing or insufficient alternative text for images as well as incorrectly implemented semantic structures (e.g. nested lists). As a result, the use of assistive technologies may be limited. (Partially compliant)
• Embedded third-party content: This includes, for example, maps, graphics provided by Friendly Captcha or external tools. Accessibility compliance for such content depends on the respective third-party providers.
• Videos without audio description: Audio descriptions are currently not consistently available for all videos. (Non-compliant)
• Calculators: The integrated calculators open in a separate pop-up window and are currently not fully accessible, as the usability and accessibility of the pop-up cannot be guaranteed in all cases. (not compatible)
